Tips after Xmas! Here’s a list of new technology gadgets was excellent this Christmas season. From gaming systems to digital cameras to iPads, the best gifts this year came in smaller packages. With such a long list of possibilities, Santa probably had a tough time filling out everyone’s technology toy list. The good news is that many retailers are offering those high-demand gadgets at incredible prices now that the Christmas shopping season has ended. Santa might wish he had waited to take advantage of some of the technology deals that are available online and in person at electronics stores through the end of December and well into January.
After Christmas Clearance Sales
The day after Christmas is the first day of the new shopping year. Stores everywhere are marking down prices on all of the extra inventory they bought for the season. You can find savings of almost 50% at many locations. The best prices can be found between Christmas and New Year’s Day, so it is important to start your shopping as soon as possible. Since the sale items are meant to get rid of overstocked merchandise, once the gadgets are gone you will be out of luck until next year. If you are looking for a specific item, you may want to call several electronics stores in your area to make sure they have the item and find out if the item has been marked down. Calling before you leave the house can save you a lot of time and gasoline.
Online Bargains
It’s possible to find excellent electronics deals without even leaving your house. If you are willing to wait for an item to be shipped from a remote location, you could save quite a lot of money by shopping online electronics sales. Stores like Best Buy and Amazon.com are offering electronic gadgets at discounts of up to $100. While you browse the sales, you may find deals on items you didn’t even realize you needed. Most online sales are only available for a limited time, so it is important to check the dates and make sure you get your purchases made before the prices go back to normal.
January Markdowns
January is an excellent month to find great deals on electronic items. Most retail stores are clearing out the shelves to make room for next year’s model of televisions, cameras, DVD players, BluRay players, and gaming consoles. You may be able to walk away with a display model at half price that works just as well as anything in the box. Talk with a sales clerk about whether or not the store is willing to make a deal for items that are in busted boxes or on display.
Hope this helps…..

Subject: Emergency
The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile; network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.
Subject: Have you locked your keys in the car?
Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other “remote” for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk). Editor’s Note: It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our car over a cell phone!”
Until next time….

Here’s a great tip to save you those “Rip Off” charges for using 411 information.
- Call 1-800-FREE-411 for free directory assistance. Nowadays most providers charge $1.99 for each call to directory assistance. While that may not seem like much, if you use that service a few times per month, it can really add up! Instead you should try calling 1-800-FREE-411 which is a free directory assistance service.

I call it the…. “Just Ask” technique ….
I just tested this technique last week with my own cell phone company. Here’s what I did….
Call your cell phone carrier and talk to customer service that handles billing. I told the rep I couldn’t afford my monthly bill any more. I need to cut out $20 per month and keep my same features. After the rep reminded me that I was in a contract I repeated that I couldn’t afford the service any more. The rep looked up my usage on calls and texting. I told her I was a loyal customer for 4 years now. She found me a plan that could save me $20 per month. I said that’s good but I need the unlimited texting! She then put me on hold…. Came back with approval from her manager and gave me my “Unlimited texting”! So at the end of 15 minutes I lowered my bill $20per month and still received unlimited texting. That’s a $240 per year savings for 15 minutes of work!
Get back to me and let me know how it works out for you…. P.J. Smith
